Protecting Your Home’s Foundation

Spread The Word

There’s a lot involved with the care and maintenance of a Frisco TX home. Even new homes require proactive measures to protect your large investment.

Our predominately clay-like soil found throughout North Texas is poised to contract and expand drastically to moisture changes. As the soil shrinks it no longer provides support for a foundation and can cause structural stress and damage. This problem can reveal itself through cracks in the soil and the dirt pulling away from the foundation.

To prevent this soil shrinkage, water the ground around your foundation at least once a week during dry periods. The longer the dry season and the hotter the temperatures, the more frequently you should water. In contrast to a lack of moisture, too much water pooling next to your foundation can also cause problems too.

You can reduce the chance of foundation issues by creating a regular routine maintenance program to protect your home investment.
